Corning 7980, ArF Grade, is a high purity synthetic amorphous silicon dioxide manufactured by flame hydrolysis. The noncrystalline, colorless, silica glass combines a very low thermal expansion coefficient with excellent optical qualities and exceptional transmittance in the deep ultraviolet. ArF Grade was developed for 193 nm lithography systems.

N-BK7 is an excellent lens material for most visible and near infrared applications. It is the most common borosilicate optical crown glass, which can provide excellent performance and moderate price. Because of its high uniformity, low content of bubbles and inclusions, and easy manufacture, it has become an excellent choice for transmission optical elements. N-BK7 is also relatively hard and has good scratch resistance. The transmission range of BK 7 is 380 to 2100 nm. It is not recommended for temperature sensitive applications such as precision mirrors
